Planned admissions help to achieve the best results from any placement. We realise however that this is not always possible and can accept referrals out of office hours.
After initial enquiry has been made, the placing authority will be faxed or posted a referral form. The form captures basic information needed. Other relevant L.A.C materials or separate care plan and background information will be appreciated at this point or as soon as possible thereafter. The more information that can be provided, the better placed we will be to evaluate the needs of the child/young person along side the needs of the children/young people already in our care. If all parties agree the placement an initial visit can be made to help the child/young person become familiar with their new home.
On admission the child/young person will be encouraged to bring their personal belongings if appropriate, and to personalise their rooms. They will receive a welcome pack providing all the information necessary in a child friendly format.
Child First will strive throughout the child/young person's stay to maintain regular communication between the child/young person, the placing authority and the care team. Reports will be provided for all statutory reviews and on request from placing authorities.
